Press Release: Synology Inc. announced today that it has deployed a local server solution with the Wüstenrot & Württembergische Group (W&W) that ensures a centralized data exchange with a high level of data security.

Insurance and banking company W&W Group is a German financial services provider dedicated to financial security, property investment, risk protection and private wealth management. The group has undergone a challenging and costly transition from the system across its 1300 agencies and directorates Windows XP per system Windows 8.

After extensive market research and evaluation, the group decided to use Synology products as a data exchange solution. The deployment of the 1-bay DiskStation DS114 in smaller agencies and the more powerful RS814+ in larger regional offices and regional headquarters provided a secure, centralized solution for data sharing and exchange.

“Synology offers the right solution for secure data exchange between decentralized agencies and directorates. If we face storage challenges in the future, we will continue to use Synology technology," said Gerhard Berrer, Head of Systems Technology and Clients at W&W Informatik GmbH.

“Thanks to Synology NAS, W&W Group is able to secure confidential business informace and sensitive customer data through encrypted transmission, ensuring the connectivity of its dispersed workforce,” says Evan Tu, CEO of Synology GmbH. "The intuitive DSM operating system makes it easy to configure the necessary settings. Support for common network protocols and built-in synchronization enable seamless data exchange and ensure overall integration between clients, servers and sites.”

In the future, W&W Group plans to replace DS114 devices with DS118 models to meet the growing demands of data, and will work with Synology to fully exploit the potential of the new capabilities to support IT infrastructure transformation and obtain a comprehensive data management solution.
