Although a few years ago (okay, maybe more than a few years ago) we only knew wireless charging of anything from sci-fi movies, now it is very popular among completely ordinary users. It started offering its support in 2017 for its iPhones i Apple, which thus enabled its users to charge probably in the most comfortable way, as is currently possible. However, paradoxically, it still does not have its own charger in its offer, so we have to rely on competitors' products. But how to choose a quality wireless charger? I will try to give you at least some advice in the following lines. A wireless charger from the Alzy workshop has arrived in the editorial office, which I have been testing for a few weeks and now I will share with you my findings from this period. So sit back, we're just getting started.

Packing

Although the packaging of the wireless charger from the Alzy workshop does not deviate from the series in terms of content, I would still like to dedicate a few lines to it. As with other products from the AlzaPower range, Alza used a frustration-free box, i.e. 100% recyclable packaging that is extremely environmentally friendly. For that, Alza definitely deserves a thumbs up, as it is unfortunately one of the few to follow a similar path, which is sad in a way given the ever-deteriorating ecological situation. But who knows, perhaps such isolated swallows are a harbinger of the approaching mass introduction of these packages. But enough of praising the packaging. Let's take a look at what's in it.

As soon as you open the box, you will find in it, in addition to the wireless charging stand itself, a short manual containing charging instructions and technical specifications in several languages, as well as a meter-long microUSB - USB-A cable used to power the stand. Although you would look for a charging adapter in the package in vain, since each of us probably has countless of them at home, I definitely do not consider its absence to be a tragedy. Personally, for example, I'm quite used to using charging adapters with multiple ports, which are perfect for chargers of all shapes, types and sizes. By the way, you can read a review of one of them here.

Technical Specifications

Before we start evaluating the processing and design or describing my personal impressions from testing, I will introduce you to the technical specifications in a few lines. AlzaPower WF210 certainly does not need to be ashamed of them. If you decide for it, you can look forward to a wireless charger with support for fast charging that supports the Qi standard. Smart Charge 5W, 7,5W and 10W charging can be used depending on the device being charged. So if you own iPhone with wireless charging support, you can look forward to 7,5W. In the case of smartphones from the Samsung workshop, you can also use 10W and thus charge the phone faster, which is definitely nice. In terms of input, the charger supports 5V/2A or 9V/2A, in the case of output it is 5V/1A, 5V/2A, 9V/1,67A.

From the point of view of safety features, the charger has FOD foreign object detection, which immediately interrupts charging when detecting unwanted objects near the phone being charged and thus prevents damage to the charger or the phone. It goes without saying that AlzaPower products have 4Safe protection - i.e. protection against short circuit, overvoltage, overload and overheating. The risk of any problem is therefore very low. The charging stand is also Case Friendly, which simply means that it has no problem charging smartphones even through cases of different shapes, types and sizes. Charging takes place up to 8 mm from the charger, which I can confirm from my own experience. While some wireless chargers only really "catch" when you place your phone on them, AlzaPower starts charging as soon as you bring the phone closer.

The last, in my opinion, interesting element is the internal use of two coils, which are placed on top of each other in the charging stand and enable trouble-free charging of the phone in both horizontal and vertical positions. So you can comfortably watch your favorite series on your smartphone while it is being charged wirelessly, which is a nice bonus of this product. Regarding the dimensions, the lower stand is 68 mm x 88 mm, the height of the charger is 120 mm and the weight is 120 grams. So it is a really compact thing.

Processing and design

As with other AlzaPower products, with the wireless charger, Alza really cared about its processing and design. Although it is a plastic product, it certainly cannot be said that it looks cheap in any way - on the contrary. Since the charger is completely rubberized, it really has a very good and high-quality impression, which is also helped by its precise manufacturing. You won't come across anything with her that isn't done to the end. Whether it is the edges, partitions, bends or the bottom, nothing here is definitely sloppy, so to speak, which is certainly pleasing for a product for 699 crowns. However, the rubber coating can be harmful at certain times, as it has a slight tendency to catch smudges. Fortunately, however, they can be cleaned relatively easily and the charger can thus be returned to the condition of a new product. Still, you should expect this miniature nuisance.

Evaluating looks is a rather tricky thing, as each of us has different tastes. Personally, however, I really like the design, as it is very simple and will therefore not offend both in the office on the desk and in the living room or bedroom. Even the branding, which Alza did not forgive on the charger, is very inconspicuous and certainly does not appear distracting in any way. The same can be said about the elongated diode in the lower support, which is used to indicate that charging is in progress or, in the case of connecting the charger to the mains, to indicate that it is ready for charging. It glows blue, but definitely not in any significant way, so it won't disturb you.

Testing

I'll admit that I'm a big fan of wireless charging and have been since I got mine iPhone put it on the wireless charger for the first time, I practically don't charge it any other way. So I really enjoyed testing the AlzaPower WF210, although I was aware practically from the very beginning that this is a product that simply has nothing to surprise. However, the question is whether it bothers anything at all. The charger from Alzy's workshop does exactly what it's supposed to do, and it does it damn well. Charging is completely problem-free and completely reliable. Not once did it happen that the charger, for example, did not register my phone and did not start charging. The above-mentioned diode also works perfectly, which lights up and goes out without fail when the phone is placed on or removed from the charger. In addition, the rubberized surface prevents any unpleasant falls that could damage it.

The overall inclination of the charger is also pleasant, which is perfect for watching videos, for example, if you have the stand placed on the table behind which you are sitting. If you put it on the bedside table next to the bed, you can be sure that you will see the content coming to the display or the alarm clock without any problems (of course, if the bedside table is easily accessible by your bed). As for the charging speed, the charger here cannot surprise, as it boasts the same specifications as many of its colleagues. iPhone I was able to charge the XS on it in less than three hours, which is absolutely standard. It's not too fast, but on the other hand, the vast majority of us charge our new iPhones overnight, so we don't really care if the charge is finished at 1:30am or 3:30am. The main thing is for the phone to be XNUMX% when we get out of bed.

Summary

I rate the AlzaPower WF210 quite simply. This is a really good product that does exactly what it was created for. In addition, it is really good in terms of design, quality and price-friendly. So if you're looking for a wireless charger that you can rely on and that won't cost thousands of crowns less, as is the custom with many manufacturers, you might really like the WF210. After all, it's been decorating my desk for quite a few weeks now, and it's not leaving this place anytime soon.
