Customers who decided to buy brand new this year Galaxy Watch Active 2, and those looking forward to innovative features may be disappointed in some ways. When Samsung first introduced the watch in August of this year, it said that the Galaxy Watch Among other things, the Active 2 will be able to boast an ECG function. Another expected function of u Galaxy Watch Active 2 was supposed to be fall detection. Unfortunately, users will most likely not see any of these innovations until the end of this year.

Both mentioned functions must receive certification from a number of important institutions before their official introduction, in all the countries of the world where they will be launched. One such institution is, for example, the FDA - the Food and Drug Administration in the United States. Than Galaxy Watch Active 2 will receive approval from this authority for ECG recording, it will not be possible to activate this function. In Europe, approval will be required from a similarly focused authority in any of the European Union states. For a similar reason, the ECG function did not start immediately in the competitors either Apple Watch.

Both the ECG function and fall detection were originally supposed to be included Galaxy Watch Active 2 from the very beginning. But Samsung is still waiting for FDA approval in the United States, so the EKG feature on the watch probably won't arrive until February next year, with sales Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be launched in the US on September 23.
