It uses a very cheap and also smart TV Android The TV is in version 8.0 and is equipped with a complete tuner set, including DVB-S/S2 and DVB-T2/HEVC and is therefore fully compatible with the newly introduced Czech television broadcasting. After all, it is also certified by Czech Radiocommunications for this reception, so it can use the "DVB-T2 verified" logo.

The built-in screen has an HD Ready resolution, which means 1366 x 768 pixels, the exact diagonal is 31,5″, i.e. 80 cm. The television is powered by a quad-core processor, which also handles the reception of HbbTV 1.5 hybrid television, image processing, and inputs and outputs. You will find these here in the form of a pair of HDMI, headphone output, digital optical audio output, and there is also USB 2.0 and Ethernet (LAN). However, you can also connect to the Internet via wireless Wi-Fi (802.11 to "n", 2,4 GHz) and a pair of speakers connected to a 2x 5 W (RMS) amplifier is also built-in. The speakers, as usual, radiate into the base.

More demanding installation, but…

Although the installation is more demanding (forget the help of the mobile phone, it only delays it), we are at Android TV, but the result is worth it. And above all, the narrow, about 38 mm wide remote control, which fits perfectly in the hand and which you can find not only on this extra cheap machine, but also on more expensive devices, for example the TCL C76, is worth it.

After installation, check the function to turn on the TV faster in the settings menu (if you enable it, it takes something extra in standby mode) and don't forget to also check it after the first launch of Youtube, which likes to enable it by itself. Consumption in basic standby mode is 0,5 W, which is of course excellent, 31 W is indicated for operation (energy class A). Also, don't forget to enable HbbTV, which was turned off after installation, after connecting to the Internet. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to use the "red button", which is so popular with us.

Controlling the TV is mostly excellent and is based on working with the arrow keys and Back. But the layout of the remote control is even better. OK has no function in the tuner, you call up tuned stations via the List button. There are two settings menu here, one from Google Android TV, the other from TCL. This already offers classic "television" choices for example for image and sound, as well as the possibility to cycle through the menus with advantage and thereby speed up your work. You can also find some functions on the context menu (button with three dashes) and these are, for example, image mode, switching to Sport mode or the type of sound output.

The EPG program menu started quickly and without a sound drop, but you can't see the image preview, it's running somewhere in the background. The list of programs is available for seven channels, if you press OK on one, you have a choice between reminding it (but the TV will not wake up from standby mode) or switching to this channel.

HbbTV worked with all tested operators, including Czech Television and FTV Prima. As already said, it must first be enabled in the menu and you will also find work with temporary files in the menu and it is good to know about them. You can find the relevant option in the settings menu.

Even though the remote control is one of the great advantages of the TV, mainly because of its excellent layout, for working with applications, or it doesn't fit well with the Google Store application marketplace. But that applies to perhaps any TV with Android TV. It is therefore best to buy a keyboard with a touch pad, and the miniature Tesla TEA-0001 is excellent, whose communication member you plug into the USB interface and when you don't need it, you remove it again and turn off the keyboard.

The applications you can install are pro Android TV series. However, some did not work, or they cannot be installed, which means that they are not adapted for the TV. For example, it was the Voyo video library. Internet television Lepší.TV, for example, worked without problems, only minor issues were found with HBO GO, which today also very well remembers the position at which you finished playback, often even when switching between devices.

The TCL 32ES580 TV is certainly a good choice for the given price, it not only corresponds to the image and sound, but is better than you might expect. The manufacturer calls it "affordable", but given the options, it's definitely worth a few crowns. The most important thing, however, is that, unlike the so-called recent time, it works reliably and without restarts or other outages, although you have to prepare for a sometimes slower response, which is understandable. Those looking for an application environment with a smart TV that will continue to develop and expand will be at home here. And such a device will please even children in the bedroom...
