Press Release: Starting today, Rakuten Viber doubles the maximum number of participants in group calls, allowing up to 10 people to participate in calls at once. The company decided to take this step depending on the situation regarding the new type of coronavirus, where the need for families, colleagues and teachers with pupils to be connected increases.

All conversations in the communication application Viber are encrypted, as well as sent photos, messages and documents. Nothing is stored on the company's servers once it is delivered. Thanks to encryption, only senders and receivers can see the messages, not even Viber itself has the decryption key.
"We are trying to find new ways to simplify communication for people in this complex situation when they are not in one place. Following the spread of the disease, people are working from home more often, so we want to provide them with a safe way to be connected with those they love or need to be in work contact with," said Ofir Eyal, Chief Operating Officer at Rakuten Viber.
