In connection with the current situation, Alza.cz is introducing a whole range of measures so that customers can really shop as safely as possible or in peace from home. More and more people are buying drugstores and PET in the e-shop, the reaction is directly related to the established measures against COVID-19. Year-on-year increases amount to roughly 200%. Over the past seven days, the company has delivered more than 100 items of drugstore and PET goods to buyers. It prepared another 000 pieces of these products directly for the branches for immediate collection. Alza is also actively working on the possibility of making available to customers a product for rapid testing for the virus in the comfort of their homes.
"The share of branches in the turnover of these two categories (drugstores and PET) is currently 68%. The best-selling products are unequivocally antibacterial and cleaning products, necessities for the little ones – baby milk, baby food, diapers, wipes, detergents and granules for dogs and cats," said Alza.cz sales director Petr Bena and added: "Customers clearly prefer personal collection , on average they spend units of minutes at the store. At most expedite pickup and those interested can also minimize their stay in the establishments by using Mobile application, and even at a time when they are not physically directly at the branch. Just click on the app to pick up, e.g. 5-10 minutes before arrival."
The largest e-shop in the Czech Republic started selling drugstores in 2015, and launched goods for dogs and cats in the summer of 2019. In 2019, it processed one million orders in these segments and sold almost three million items of goods. This has made him one of the largest sellers in this area, the estimated turnover in these categories will exceed CZK 1 billion this year. Today, it offers over 23 items from the drugstore, PET and selected foods, and in the coming days the assortment will be expanded to include dietary supplements (vitamins, minerals, joint nutrition, supplements to support digestion, heart and blood systems, etc.).
As part of increased security measures and maximum health protection of all persons in Alza branches, the company immediately equipped all employees coming into contact with shoppers with protective neck braces with a nanofiber membrane stamp Respilon, introduced protective foils (see photo) and at the same time introduced disinfection cleaning at all establishments, which is now underway every hour. Air disinfection with ozone is also being considered. Antibacterial gels, soaps and disposable towels are also available to everyone. In other cases, an extensive one is also available AlzaBox network, service AlzaExpress or others transport services.
Alza.cz is also actively working on the possibility of making available to customers a product for rapid virus testing in the comfort of their homes. At the moment, the test is in the process of IVD certification with an effort to grant an exemption for accelerated marketing, which can be granted by the Ministry of Health through SZÚ or SUKL. A test based on the detection of antibodies in the testee's body works very simply, similar to diabetes testing. As soon as this product is approved for sale in the Czech Republic, Alza.cz will immediately start the pre-order system and start sales.
