Last month we saw the introduction of the Samsung phone Galaxy A21s, which was equipped with the brand new Exynos 850 chipset. At that time, we didn't know much about this chipset. However, now Samsung has put this chipset on its site, revealing many of the earlier mysteries.

The Exynos 850 is codenamed S5E3830 and is manufactured using an 8nm technical process. It is designed for use in phones, tablets, wearable electronics and IoT devices. It has an octa-core Cortex-A55 CPU clocked at 2 GHz. The graphics chip is Mali G52. The NPU chip that can be found in the more powerful Exynos 980 or Exynos 990 chipsets has not been included.

As for cameras, up to 21,7 MPx or 16 + 5 MPx are supported. It can record videos in FullHD resolution and 30 FPs. There is also PDAF, HDR or electronic image stabilization. The new chipset supports LPDDR4X RAM, eMMC 5.1 storage as well as microSD cards. Next generation networks will not work in the Exynos 850, but this is understandable given the use in budget phones. Last but not least, we can find GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0. It was the first phone with this chipset Galaxy A21s, other Exynos 850 smartphones are expected in the coming months.
