Displays from the Samsung workshop are known for their high quality, and the competing company is also aware of this Apple, which has been purchasing display panels for its most equipped versions of iPhones from the South Korean company for several years. In the case of the model iPhone X was even Samsung's exclusive display supplier, but the apple company's attitude has changed and it now wants to reduce its dependence on Samsung.

There were earlier speculations that the South Korean technology giant could lose the contract for the supply of OLED displays for iPhones altogether, but according to the latest reports, this will not happen. Samsung should also supply OLED panels to this year's iPhones, but it will not be the only manufacturer to provide its displays to Apple. Leaked information suggests that we will also see screens from BOE and LG Display in the cheaper variants of this year's iPhones.

Apple should introduce a total of four iPhone models this year – iPhone 12, iPhone 12 max, iPhone 12 For a iPhone 12 For Max. The displays with a refresh rate of 60Hz of the first two models will be shared by all three aforementioned manufacturers, but for the other two variants we should expect 120Hz panels exclusively from Samsung.

According to leaks, the South Korean company should also provide Apple with OLED panels with Y-OCTA technology, which, simply put, ensures a smaller display thickness. On the contrary, we will not see more advanced LTPO OLED displays, which offer lower energy consumption and a variable refresh rate compared to the previous generation, in the upcoming iPhones. However, Samsung is likely to use LTPO panels in its own smartphones, namely the yet-to-be-presented one Galaxy Notes 20.
