Samsung has definitely not been avoiding the world of computer games and e-sports lately. While Odyssey's gaming monitors have become the official displays of League of Legends team T1, Samsung recently explained why its QLED TVs are the right choice for gamers. Now, the South Korean giant has taken its activities in the field of e-sports a little further and entered into a partnership with Riot Games, the company behind the game LoL, and the organizers of the LCS (League Championship Series) - one of the most popular LoL team competitions in North America.

Thanks to this partnership, gamers will have the opportunity to play on computers that will be equipped with the latest 2 series NVMe M.970 SSDs. The lineup of these drives consists of the 970 EVO, 970 EVO Plus and 970 PRO models. Riot Games states that every millisecond is very important for the transmission and for the performance of individual players. "In Samsung, we have found a partner who shares the same commitment to the highest quality as we do," the company said in its statement. Samsung is also helping LCS launch a new segment called Samsung SSD Fast Five as part of this collaboration. The firm will monitor the performance of individual players on a weekly basis throughout the summer - the aim of the monitoring is to see how long it takes for them to achieve key benchmarks. At the end of the Summer Playoff, Samsung together with the LCS will announce the names of the members of the Fast Five – an all-star team made up of the most powerful players.

“A high-performance SSD is one of the most important components in a gaming system because it enables incredibly fast data transfer and better performance,” says Grace Dolan of Samsung Electronics America, adding that Samsung is proud to partner with LCS.
