It was originally assumed that the 5G variant Galaxy Z Flip will be indistinguishable from the classic 4G version that we could see earlier this year. However, it looks like Samsung is planning quite a few changes and they are not just related to the chipset and modem. Differences are expected in the cameras, secondary display and battery.

We recently learned that Samsung would Galaxy Z Flip was supposed to receive the new Snapdragon 865 chipset, which already has an integrated 5G modem. Samsung was originally expected to keep the previous generation Snapdragon 855+ chipset and only add the Snapdragon X5 50G modem. However, according to the latest information, this is not the only change.

Through the certification process, we learned that Galaxy The Z Flip 5G will have a smaller secondary display. It will now have a size of 1,05 inches, but the resolution will remain identical, i.e. 300 x 112 pixels. The answer to shrinking the display can be found in cameras. Galaxy Z Flip 5G should receive a new selfie camera with 12 MPx and also new cameras on the back, the first sensor should have 12 MPx, the second one 10 MPx.

The last major change is found in the batteries. The classic version of the Z Flip had a single battery with a capacity of 3 mAh. The 300G variant is already supposed to have two batteries. One will have 5 mAh, the other 2 mAh. This could be quite a "stumbling block", because the overall capacity will be 500 mAh less, but we also have to add higher energy consumption due to the more powerful chipset, and especially the 704G modem. The presentation of the phone should take place in August.
