When the coronavirus disease began to spread around the world at the beginning of this year, discussions about hygiene and disinfection, among other things, began to increase in intensity. In this context, various advice and instructions appeared on the Internet, consumers showed an unusual interest in various relevant tools, and many people literally attacked stores and e-shops with disinfectants and cleaning products. Various methods of disinfecting and cleaning mobile devices were also widely discussed. Samsung has now come up with one such product.

The device, called the UV Sterilizer, saw the light of day in Thailand this week. The company promotes it as an antibacterial tool that can not only charge smart phones, smart watches or wireless headphones, but also thoroughly disinfect the respective devices. The UV Sterilizer is indeed a multifunctional device, which is evidenced by, among other things, the fact that it can also be used to clean smaller objects, such as sunglasses. The price of the sterilizer is roughly 1200 crowns, the dimensions of the inconspicuous device are 228mm x 128mm x 49mm. It is not yet clear whether its sale will also start in countries outside the Far East.

The UV Sterilizer isn't the only way Samsung is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. A few months ago, for example, the South Korean giant introduced a disinfection service for its facilities, and also invested tens of millions of dollars in activities related to the global fight against the coronavirus.
