For some time now, Samsung has had a habit of first releasing security software updates for some of its devices, and only later announcing what fixes they actually contain. This month is no exception in this regard, when the South Korean giant first released the July security software patch for a handful of its devices, and only a little later published a report on what vulnerabilities the update fixes.

The July patch for Samsung smart mobile devices brings, among other things, a bug fix where after setting up faulty wallpapers cause device crashes. In addition, the aforementioned security patch fixes a handful of vulnerabilities both directly in the operating system Android, as well as in Samsung's software. When Android OS, there are a total of four critical vulnerabilities, several vulnerabilities with high or medium risk, and a total of fourteen vulnerabilities that exclusively affect devices of the series Galaxy. The update also fixes a bug that allowed third-party apps to write data to the SD card. The July security patch is currently available for some smartphones and tablets in the range Galaxy. This is, for example, Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 10 or maybe Galaxy A50. In the course of the following weeks, other devices should gradually receive the mentioned update.
