Commercial message: Today's time is relatively fast-paced and every second is in the game. Moreover, it is no coincidence that the saying "Time is money". For example, if you live in Prague or visit it often, you will definitely agree with us. For example, we can cite the local metro. This is a great and relatively well-frequented way, with the help of which we can quickly get from point A to point B. Despite these advantages, we often care about making our connection, which is not always quite possible. And that's exactly what it's here for Subways.

How does it work?

The Czech application Metroji represents the ideal method that can tell in an instant whether we are catching our upcoming connection. But how does it actually work? Within the application, we simply set the stops from which we most often depart and we are partially done. Metroji will take care of the rest, you can say for us. At this moment, it is absolutely crucial for us to know exactly to the second when our subway is leaving. Now we can ask the question, how can the application even achieve this, if there is no signal down in the subway after all? The developer uses public offline timetables of Dopravní podniku Praha and the software automatically downloads them. It is only a 500kB file that we don't even know how to download.

So let's take a look at the functionality of the application in practice. On the main page, we have our preset stations in front of us, and we see a flashing countdown with emoticons. The mentioned deduction shows exactly how many seconds, or minutes, our connection departs in. A rather elegant solution here is the smiley face itself. It expresses whether the subway from turnstiles we can even make it. First we can see a meditating stick figure, which means we still have plenty of time. But at some point it switches to pedestrians, when we should be out. As soon as a running man appears, we have to add, and if a stick figure with crossed arms appears at the turnstiles, we can stop right away - because we no longer have a chance to catch the subway.

The ideal solution in the time of the coronavirus

Unfortunately, this year is plagued by the global pandemic of the new disease COVID-19. For this reason, any social interaction has been significantly reduced and in many places it is still mandatory to wear masks. This applies especially to the Prague metro - it is an enclosed space where several hundred people can be at once. In the interests of personal safety, it is therefore understandable that we want to spend as little time as possible in the train or station. This is exactly what the Metroji application can help with. Thanks to calculations accurate to the second, we can perfectly plan our route to the platform itself and arrive so-called on time.

Even easier to use

We also have a practical widget available. It is enough to place it in the notification center and we can access information about departures even on the locked screen. A huge advantage and a novelty at the same time is that Metroji is also fully available on the apple watch Apple Watch. Thanks to this, we don't have to wait to pull out the phone and it's simply enough to quickly look at the wrist. Of course, the app is hugely popular. Since its release on the App Store, Metroji has been downloaded by more than 11 people, and in the case of Google Play, more than 3 people have downloaded it.
