Commercial message: You can continue to drive your retired Samsung TVs and monitors where you used to. REMA Systém will ensure their ecological disposal.

Samsung

After two weeks of uncertainty, when some collection yards temporarily stopped accepting old Samsung electrical appliances based on inaccurate information from ASEKOL, the situation is returning to normal and people can continue to hand in their old Samsung TVs and monitors where they were used to. It follows from agreements, which was concluded together by the collective take-back systems of electrical equipment through the Ministry of the Environment. ASEKOL announced the end of collection of Samsung devices from collection yards from the beginning of August this year. And this despite the fact that until the end of 2019, when it was a contractual partner of Samsung, for every sold product imported by Samsung to the Czech Republic, it received from Samsung, or consumers, paid. REMA Systém, with whom Samsung concluded a contract for the ecological disposal of old electrical equipment effective from the beginning of this year, has undertaken to secure the collection from all places where ASEKOL refuses to collect Samsung products, even without a signed collection point agreement.

ASEKOL collected old Samsung televisions and monitors from collection yards until the end of July this year. He then announced that he would end this practice as of August 1. Some operators of collection yards interpreted this information as meaning that Samsung devices may not be accepted from citizens and prohibited them from being imported to collection yards. But the reality was that collection yards are supposed to collect all electrical waste from citizens. Consumers pay for the environmentally friendly disposal of a TV or monitor when they buy it – part of the price of the device is a so-called recycling fee, which goes to a specific collective system for the return of electrical equipment, which is responsible for the collection of the device and its environmentally friendly disposal. Samsung emphasized that it is actively interested in the area, its representative participated in the meeting at the Ministry of the Environment and has always fulfilled its legal obligations through the collective system, fulfills and will fulfill all recycling fees properly (until the end of 2019 to ASEKOL, from January 2020 of REMA System).

No scrap yard should reject Samsung appliances

Current agreement sanctified by the Ministry of the Environment allows these collection yards to use the services of REMA System despite the fact that they do not yet have a contract with it. All you have to do is arrange the collection of these devices in advance on the free information line Smart Recycling 800 976 679.

Their subsequent removal for further processing is clearly a matter of agreement between the collection yard operator and Samsung's contractual partner, REMA Systém.
