The coronavirus pandemic has created a real mess in the smartphone market, and the tech world is increasingly leaning towards virtual and digital, as is mainstream society. The same is true of conferences, festivals and other social events of a mass format, where thousands of people meet on a regular basis. As a result of the spread of the virus, a number of similar events have been canceled or online, as well as, most likely, the Samsung Developer Conference 2020, which serves as an opportunity for developers to meet other colleagues, get to know their work method and possibly be inspired .

Samsung, however, due to the pandemic, which at least stimulated these considerations, began to think about the whole meaning of the conference, and somehow, over time, the South Korean manufacturer came to the conclusion that while Google I/O and Apple's WWDC, i.e. events of a similar format, have their place in the technological world , the meaning of SDC kind of falters. In short, Samsung has nothing to brag about, because the voice assistant Bixby is significantly behind the rest of the competition, in the case of services such as Health or Music, there is no way to talk about success, and apart from velvety smartphone production, the South Korean giant doesn't have much left. The new head of the mobile division, Roh Tae-moon, also agrees with this, according to whom Samsung should once again focus on what it does best - innovation in the field of hardware and software should be left to the more experienced. The Samsung ecosystem is slowly but surely dying, and as Tae-moon himself pointed out, the SDC conference will not save it this year.
