The South Korean tech giant could shift major smartphone production to India, according to sources. According to information, the company has even already increased its production of smartphones in this country. It is known that Samsung has its largest smartphone factory in India. Production from other countries could now be added to it.

According to a recent report by The Economic Times, the company plans to make $40 billion worth of smartphones in India over the next five years. A person close to the South Korean tech giant said Samsung is adjusting its smartphone production lines in India under the Indian government's PLI (Production linked Incentive) of the system. Apparently mid-range smartphones are to be produced here, as their production value is supposed to be around 200 dollars. These smartphones will be mainly intended for foreign markets. The company is also rumored to be liquidating cell phone production in South Korea due to high labor costs. So a possible increase in production in India makes sense. Samsung's biggest competitor has also recently increased production in this country - Apple, who started manufacturing here iPhone 11 to iPhone XR. In addition to smartphones, Samsung manufactures televisions in India, and also manufactures smartphones in Indonesia and Brazil.
