When the coronavirus pandemic broke out, many large companies kept their employees at home as part of the home office. In such cases, we could read many statements about how the health of employees comes first. Similar measures were introduced earlier this year by Samsung, which also closed some factories. Now Samsung comes back with a "remote work program".

The reason is simple. As it seems, the epidemic in South Korea is getting stronger. So Samsung said it will allow its employees to work from home again. Applicants for this program will be allowed to work from home throughout September. Towards the end of the month, depending on the development of the epidemic, it will be seen whether this program will need to be extended. However, this program applies, without exception, only to employees of the mobile division and the consumer electronics division. Elsewhere, it was only allowed for the sick and pregnant. Therefore, if they are not employees of the two divisions mentioned above, home office can only occur for employees after their application has been evaluated. In Samsung's homeland, they had 441 positive tests for covid-19 yesterday, which is the highest increase since March 7. The three-digit number of infected people has been regularly seen in this country since August 14. Samsung is not the only one introducing similar programs. Due to the growing epidemic, companies such as LG and Hyundai are also resorting to this step.
