Samsung is working to meet the demand for cheaper LCD TVs. So he extended his contract with Hansol Electronics, a South Korean LCD display manufacturer based in Seoul. It is certainly interesting that Hansol Electronics was a subsidiary of Samsung until 1991. The current contract was for 2,5 million LCD TVs per year. However, it has recently been expanded to a total of 10 million pieces per year.

Hansol Electronics will thus account for a quarter of Samsung's deliveries in this segment. The background of this contract is very simple. During the coronavirus pandemic, people are not spending on expensive and beautiful QLED TVs with 4K or even 8K resolution. Any household will be satisfied with an "ordinary" LCD TV. Due to the enormous increase in interest in these televisions, Samsung has now decided to satisfy the demand. Due to the contract with Hansol Electronics, Samsung will not have to work with a significant competitor. In recent weeks, there have been rumors that Samsung could enter into an agreement with LG due to LCD displays. The contract is also in response to the complete suspension of LCD display production at Samsung's factories, which is expected to happen by the end of this year. The company wants to continue producing only OLED panels. Samsung has invested a total of 11 billion dollars in these lines since last summer.
