External SSD drives SanDisk Extreme® a SanDisk Extreme PRO® are custom designed to keep up with today's high definition digital content demands. The new external drives use NVMe technology, come in capacities of up to 2 TB, and are the ideal tool for creating unique content or for easily storing and transferring footage in 4K or 8K quality. The flagship of the range, the SanDisk Extreme PRO, uses an all-metal aluminum chassis to ensure heavy-duty operation without overheating and a durable silicone frame to withstand harsh conditions. Additionally, the drives help keep digital content safe with password protection and an upgrade to 256-bit hardware AES encryption.

SanDisk Extreme and SanDisk Extreme PRO external SSDs are backed by a five-year limited warranty and are available through the Western Digital Store and select distributors and resellers worldwide. SanDisk Extreme it's available in 500GB and 1TB capacities ($139 and $239 at WDStore, respectively) The 2TB drive will be on sale before Christmas. SanDisk Extreme PRO is already available in 2 TB capacity. The 1TB drive will be on sale before Christmas ($299 at WDStore). The prices of the new SanDisk Extreme external drives will copy the prices of the previous models at the time of their launch and will be affected by the conditions in individual markets.
