Samsung usually makes its own batteries for its phones. But it looks like it will rely on an external company to build the models from the upcoming S21 series. It is supposed to be the Chinese giant Amperex Technology Limited. He had already provided the Korean company with batteries for lower-end models Galaxy A a Galaxy M. Chinese batteries last appeared in the manufacturer's flagship lines in 2018 in models Galaxy S9. This is the second time Amperex has been mentioned as a battery supplier for the company's upcoming flagships.

Amperex was also mentioned in previous leaked specifications of individual models. According to them, the Chinese company will provide batteries with capacities of 21 mAh, 21 mAh and 21 mAh for the S4000, S4800+ and S5000 Ultra models. So it won't be a big change from the S20 series. Only the S21+ battery will increase by 300 mAh compared to the previous "plus".

There is no official news yet, so it is not clear whether Samsung will split the battery orders between several companies. The manufacturer's past models ran on sources from the home company Samsung SDI, which holds the first place in the ranking of the most used batteries in mobile devices. China's Amperex is in third place, just behind Korea's LG Chem. Samsung's S21 series is expected to be released sometime in early 2021. If it were to copy this year's S20 series, the phones should hit the market in March.
