Samsung has clearly defined rules when it comes to the regularity of software updates for its smartphones. Until a certain time, all smartphones get regular monthly updates, after which it switches to quarterly updates. This week, Samsung also joined the list of models whose software is only updated quarterly Galaxy Footnote 8.

Due to the age of the mentioned model – Samsung Galaxy The Note 8 launched in August 2017 - it's been clear for some time that the move to quarterly updates was coming soon. Earlier this week, it was officially announced that owners of Samsung's former flagship smartphone will no longer receive over-the-air software updates every month as they have been doing. Samsung Galaxy The Note 8 has received a total of two major operating system updates since its launch, with Androidbut em 10 is no longer compatible.

The mentioned model will therefore not be included in the group of smartphones for which Samsung has promised at least three major operating system updates. At the same time, Samsung updated its website with informaceme about smartphones that get quarterly security software updates and added to the list Galaxy Note 8. A similar fate recently befell the models of the product line Galaxy S8. So if you are a Samsung owner Galaxy Notre 8, you can expect regular quarterly software updates until at least next October. From October 2021, only Samsung's decision will matter in this regard.
