Ever since Samsung introduced its latest camera Galaxy Camera 2 with large display and operating system Android many years have passed. Other electronics manufacturers also tried to break into this field, with more or less success. After about a year since the last such attempt, the Zeiss company comes with its experiment in the form of the Zeiss ZX1.

This camera is Zeiss' entry into the digital camera market, having been introduced back in 2018, but only now pre-orders have been launched. The device boasts a full frame 37,4 MPx image sensor, a fixed 35 mm lens with an aperture of f/2 or an electronic viewfinder.

And what will the Zeiss ZX1 offer compared to classic cameras? At first glance, we can notice a 4,3″ display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, on which we will see a specially modified version Androidus pre-installed Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 or USB 3.1 are also available. You will also be pleased with the option of automatic backup to NAS or the cloud. The camera is capable of shooting videos in 4K (30 frames per second) or Full HD (60 frames per second), the integrated 512GB SSD memory is used to store such high-quality videos, the manufacturer does not mention the possibility of expansion with SD cards. A battery with a decent capacity of 3190mAh takes care of the energy supply.

We'll have to wait a little longer to see how the "new" digital camera fares in photo and video quality tests, or battery life. The Zeiss ZX1 can be pre-ordered in the US for $6000, roughly CZK 138. The device will also be available for purchase in the Czech Republic, but the price has not yet been announced.
