Sometimes the devil hides in the little things. On operating systems, the Google Chrome browser is known for its large demands on operating memory. And even such a mobile application of Gmail can sometimes take a big bite out of the phone's speed and fluidity. Google is now making it available to all users androidfor its "Go" version, which was originally developed for low-end phones running on the system Android Go.

Android Go runs on phones that have RAM and disk space to spare. Together with the introduction of the system, Google started to release lighter versions of its applications three years ago, intended for the lower class of devices. However, until now these applications were only available to those who had the operating system Android Go. But that is changing now thanks to the release of Gmail Go.

And how does the smaller brother of the most popular email application differ from its normal version? The user interface remains almost unchanged. Although the plastic effect of layering individual user elements on top of each other is replaced by ordinary flat lines in the Go version, few people will notice the difference at first glance. In terms of functionality, Gmail Go does not allow you to integrate Google Meet, a video conferencing service, into the application. However, it is not entirely clear whether this is a permanent intervention.

After the release of Gmail Go, the only less cheesy versions of Google apps that the company has yet to release to the general public are YouTube Go and Assistant Go. Are you using a lighter version of Gmail? Have you come across a situation where a classic email client would slow down your device?
