A few days ago, Samsung introduced a new chipset for the upper middle class Exynos 1080, the successor of the Exynos 980 chip. It is the first chip of the technological giant produced by the 5nm process. Now the AnTuTu benchmark score has been leaked, where the unknown smartphone labeled only as Orion with the new chipset scored a total of 693 points, leaving behind the phones built on Qualcomm's current flagship Snapdragon 600+ chip.

In the processor test, the mystery smartphone scored 181 points, beating the phone Galaxy The Note 20 Ultra 5G, which uses the aforementioned Snapdragon 865+. However, some smartphones with this chip were faster, such as the ROG Phone 3, which scored 185 points.

The Exynos 1080 also excelled in the graphics chip test, when it even surpassed the current leader of this category, the flagship Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra (also powered by the Snapdragon 865+). The 'Orion' scored 297 points in this category, while the Chinese smartphone giant's flagship phone scored 676 points. It is worth adding that the chip worked in combination with 258 GB of operational memory and 171 GB of internal memory, and software ran on Androidin 11

Let us recall that the Exynos 1080 has four large Cortex-A78 processor cores, clocked at a frequency of up to 3 GHz, and four small Cortex A-55 cores with a frequency of 2,1 GHz. Graphics operations are handled by the Mali-G78 GPU.

According to unofficial reports, the first device to use this chip will be the Vivo X60, which should be launched in China soon. It is possible that this phone is behind the name Orion.
