The day before yesterday, millions of technology fans watched the presentation of the new generation of iPhones. Among them was the smartphone giant Xiaomi, which subsequently made fun of Apple for not including a charger with the iPhone 12.

Xiaomi specifically took a dig at Apple on Twitter saying "don't worry, we didn't take anything out of the Mi 10T Pro box". She accompanied her post with a short video, where after opening the box, it's not the phone that looks at us, but the charger.

Such nudging is not uncommon in the tech world, but it sometimes backfires. For example, this happened last year to Samsung, which published a clip on YouTube several years ago in which it criticized Apple for the missing 3,5mm jack on the iPhone 7. However, it quietly removed the video last year after launching the flagship series Galaxy The Note 10, which also lacked the ever-popular connector. However, it is worth adding that while for Apple is a 3,5mm jack since 2016 when iPhone 7 launched on the market in the past, Samsung still offers it today in some models (but no longer in flagships).

It should be noted that Apple removed the charger (as well as the EarPods) not only from the iPhone 12 packaging, but also from all other iPhones currently sold (i.e. iPhone 11, iPhone SE and iPhone Xr). In the boxes of the mentioned devices, users will now only find the charging cable. Apple for many, the controversial move is justified by environmental considerations (specifically, to help it reduce its carbon footprint).
