Google Assistant is available on virtually everything from smartphones to smart displays, and now users of most of Samsung's smart TVs launched this year can look forward to it. It will be the first to arrive in the US this week, and then in other countries by the end of the year.

Specifically, the following TVs will support the Google voice assistant: 2020 8K and 4K OLED, 2020 Crystal UHD, 2020 Frame and Serif, and 2020 Sero and Terrace.

Voice control on Samsung's smart TVs was previously provided by its own Bixby platform, as its TVs do not run on Google's operating system Android TV (which will soon change its name to Google TV). Using Google's voice assistant, the user will be able to do everything from controlling playback to opening apps. It is also possible to ask it to find movies of a certain genre or movies with a certain actor. And of course, it can be used to control smart home devices, listen to the weather forecast and perform other usual actions.

If you happen to be reading this in the US, here's how to set up the assistant on your TV: go to Settings > General > Voice and select Voice Assistant. When prompted, select Google Assistant. If you don't see this option, you'll need to update your TV software to the latest version. To complete the setup, you need to turn on the assistant on your smartphone.
