Samsung has made no secret of the fact that it has big plans for its foldable smartphones. According to the latest reports, it even looks like it does not intend to stick with the "tablet" format Galaxy From the Fold or for smartphones of the type Galaxy From Flip. The server LetsGoDigital brought the news that the South Korean giant had patented a dual folding smartphone that resembles a laptop in many ways.

The mentioned patent describes a device with an expandable display, both sides of which can be folded or unfolded to improve mobility or, conversely, to add additional functions. According to Samsung, the phone described in the patent should also be able to be used as a smaller laptop. The device should really be very compact for perfect mobility, and when folded it could even fit into a really small bag or backpack pocket. As is often the case with patents, they may not be realized, or the resulting product may differ considerably from the original description and illustrations. The patent application was originally filed back in 2018, and Samsung's foldable smartphone strategy has undergone major changes since then. It could be a real challenge for Samsung to develop and build the described device, but Samsung on the example Galaxy From Fold a Galaxy Z Flip has clearly shown that it does not hesitate to win with its foldable smartphones and that it really cares about them.

However, Samsung's patent application describes several different processing variants of the mentioned folding device. By all accounts, the product should be multi-purpose and its capabilities should exceed those of ordinary smartphones, while the perfectly compact design would certainly be welcomed by those for whom mobility is one of the priority factors when purchasing a new smart mobile device. Let's be surprised what Samsung will come up with in the end.
