The well-known (and above all reliable) leaker Roland Quandt released the hardware specifications of the "plus" variant of the Huawei Mate 40. According to him, the smartphone will, among other things, have a curved display with a diagonal of 6,76 inches or a 12MP telephoto lens with a five-fold optical zoom.

The screen resolution should be 1344 x 2772 px and it is very likely that its refresh rate will be at least 90 Hz. Thanks to the significant curvature of the sides, the phone should not have any side frames (after all, these were not even on its predecessor).

According to Quandt, the main camera will have a resolution of 50 MPx, a lens with an aperture of f/1.9 and optical image stabilization. It will also reportedly support 8K video recording and have a two-tone LED flash. The second camera should have a resolution of 12 MPx and a telephoto lens with a five-fold optical zoom, and the third sensor is said to be a 20 MPx ultra-wide-angle module with an aperture of f/1.8. The front camera should be dual and have a resolution of 13 MPx. According to the renders accompanying the leak, the cameras will be housed in a circular model, however, a few days ago Huawei published a "shadow" image of the back of one of the models, where the photo module has an unusual hexagonal shape, as part of a teaser for the introduction of the flagship series.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro should be powered by the new Kirin 9000 chipset, which is said to complement 8 GB of operating memory (in the version for China it should be up to 12 GB) and 256 GB of expandable internal memory. Software-wise, it should be built on Androidu 10 and the user interface EMUI 11. Due to American sanctions, Google services will be missing from the phone, instead of which there will apparently be the Huawei Media Services platform. The list of parameters is completed by a battery with a capacity of 4400 mAh and support for fast charging with a power of 65 or 66 W.

The specifications of the phone look interesting, at least in terms of camera and performance, it could compete with the current high-end Samsung smartphones. However, the question is how it will be sold with its sibling - the absence of services from Google is a significant minus and for many customers it can be a "deal-breaker" when deciding whether to choose a Chinese or a South Korean brand.

The new flagship series will be presented on October 22 in China, it should not arrive in Europe until next year. According to some unofficial reports, Huawei could also unveil a new product called the Mate 30 Pro E on Thursday, which should be an improved version of last year's model.
