Last week, the new Huawei Kirin 9000 flagship chip appeared in the popular AnTuTu benchmark, where it achieved a comparable result to the Exynos 1080 chipset. over 865 points. Now it has become clear why it is so strong in this area - it has a 865-core GPU. Recall that the new Kirin will power the next flagship series of the Chinese smartphone giant Mate 287.

The information came from the well-known leaker Ice Universe, who tested the graphics performance of the Kirin 9000 in the Geekbench benchmark. His score in this area was 6430 points. Let's add that the chipset uses the Mali-G78 MP24 graphics chip, which, according to the leaker, ran at lower frequencies to distribute the load and save energy.

Even if Kirin 9000 performs better than Exynos 1080 and Snapdragon 865 in the field of graphics, its real competition will be the successors of these chips - Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 875, which will probably not appear in the first smartphones until next year (it should be the first to use them Samsung's next flagship series Galaxy S21).

The device that Ice universe tested in Geekbench bore the designation NOH-NX9 and was apparently a Mate 40 model. According to unofficial information, it will get a display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, 8 GB of operating memory and 256 GB of internal memory.

In addition to the standard Mate 40 model, Huawei is to introduce its more powerful Pro variant this week (specifically on Thursday), which will reportedly have a 6,76-inch display, five rear cameras, 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of internal memory and support for fast charging with a power of 65 or 66 W.
