Samsung has started rolling out the October security update to its flexible phones as well, more precisely to the latest one – Galaxy From the Fold 2. Before that, the current and last year's flagship series already received it Galaxy S20 to Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 20 a Galaxy Note 10 and also smartphones Galaxy A50 and A51.

Latest update for Galaxy The Z Fold 2 carries firmware version F916UXXS1BTJ1 and is currently being received by users in dozens of countries across different continents. Additionally, it is now available to US users on the Sprint network (this firmware version is marked F916USQS1ATJ1).

This month's security update is particularly important because it fixes a total of 21 vulnerabilities found in Samsung's software, one of which could theoretically be exploited to gain access to Secure Folder user content. Exploiting this bug is obviously not as easy as it sounds, but it's good to know that Samsung has fixed it anyway.

As usual, you can download the latest update by opening Settings on your phone, selecting Software Update, and tapping Download and Install. At the moment, it is not known when the update will arrive on the tech giant's other foldable smartphones, but it can be expected that it won't be too long.
