According to Google, it pays maximum attention to the security of its Google Play online store, but due to the huge number of applications it has to control, it is not in its power to control everything. The Czech antivirus company Avast has now discovered 21 popular applications in the store that look legitimate, but in fact are adware - software whose purpose is to "bombard" users with advertising.

Specifically, these are the following application-games (in order of popularity): Shoot Them, Crush Car, Rolling Scroll, Helicopter Attack – New, Assassin Legend – 2020 New, Helicopter Shoot, Rugby Pass, Flying Skateboard, Iron It, Shooting Run, Plant Monster, Find Hidden, Find 5 Differences – 2020 New, Rotate Shape, Jump Jump, Find the Differences – Puzzle Game, Sway Man, Desert Against, Money Destroyer, Cream Trip – New and Props Rescue.

 

Now that you know which apps to avoid, or which apps to delete if you've installed them, you might be wondering what exactly is wrong with these apps, when most of them don't look harmful or suspicious at first glance, at least to the untrained eye. the eye of the average user of mobile content.

The trained eyes of the cybersecurity experts at Avast were quick to notice that a number of user reviews of the aforementioned apps mentioned YouTube ads promoting quite a different functionality than what users would get after downloading those apps. After developers catch their attention with fraudulent ads, they start flooding them with more ads, many of which appear outside of the apps themselves.

At the time of writing, some of the listed apps still remained in the Google Store.
