Dutch blog Let's Go Digital has managed to track down a patent that suggests the S Pen stylus could appear in the series' foldable phones Galaxy Fold. This would confirm the finding recent speculation, which talked about the same fact. The patent dates back to April of this year and the drawings do not show any specific phone model - it is a shot of using the stylus with any foldable phone.

Even before entering Galaxy From the Fold 2 to the market, it was speculated that the already released model would offer S Pen compatibility. That didn't happen in the end, perhaps because Samsung decided to change the technology it uses in relation to the stylus. While, for example, on such Galaxy Note 20's stylus works thanks to electromagnetic resonance (EMR), according to rumors surrounding the Fold 3, the S Pen could be powered by the more accurate, but more expensive, AES (active electrostatic technology).

However, the patent application Samsung filed in April only mentions the older EMR technology. Now we have to choose which is more likely - whether we should believe the patent, or if by chance Samsung has not decided to use more sophisticated technologies over the course of many months. Given the tendency of the Korean giant to innovate, I would rather bet on the second option. To add compatibility with the stylus, however, Samsung still has to figure out a way to increase the durability of its flexible displays so that it can incorporate the digitizer needed for the stylus to function properly.
