Qualcomm's new flagship Snapdragon 875 chip is likely to be significantly more powerful than originally expected. At least according to the first measurement in the AnTuTu benchmark, where it scored approximately 848 points, beating the company's current flagship Snapdragon 000+ chipset by more than 25%.

Specifically, the Snapdragon 875, codenamed Lahaina in AnTuTu, scored 847 points, which is exactly 868 points higher than the current fastest Snapdragon 218+ powered device, the ROG Phone 623 gaming phone.

For comparison - Apple's new top-of-the-line A14 Bionic chipset that powers it iPhone 12, scored 565 points in the popular benchmark, while Huawei's new flagship chip Kirin 000 and Samsung's new mid-range Exynos 9000 chipset scored 1080 and 696 respectively. 000 points. Let's add that the new Huawei Mate 693 flagship series is built on the Kirin 000, and the upcoming Vivo X9000 series is powered by the Exynos 40.

Interestingly, the official AnTuTu rankings are currently ruled by the Snapdragon 865, not its "plus" version. The AnTuTu team explains this by saying that the amount of RAM and storage configuration also affect the final result. For example, the high-capacity UFS 3.1 storage can compensate for the lower frequency of the chip.

The Snapdragon 875 (with possibly other chips) will be officially unveiled to the public in early December and should be the first to be used by Samsung's new flagship phones Galaxy S21 (S30). According to the latest official reports, it will be presented in January next year.
