During the pandemic, sales of not only smartphones, but also tablets are failing. It seems that many people on the planet are solving new crisis situations by acquiring technological aids. The otherwise very immobile tablet segment saw an increase in total sales of almost a quarter during the third quarter of the year. From last year's 38,1 million units sold, sales rose to 47,6 million and Samsung benefited the most. This not only increased sales of tablets, but also another important indicator of success - market share.

While last year for the same period, tablets from the Korean company accounted for thirteen percent of all devices sold, this year the figure rose to 19,8 percent. And although Samsung's main competitor, Apple and its iPads, also grew year-on-year in the third quarter in terms of units sold, precisely thanks to the steep rise of the Korean manufacturer, the share of the "apple" company in the market decreased by less than two percent.

Apple otherwise, it completely dominates in absolute numbers, when it was able to sell 13,4 million tablets in the quarter. The five most successful manufacturers for the third quarter are completed by Amazon in third place, Huawei in fourth place and Lenovo in fifth place. The last two mentioned companies performed similarly well year-on-year to Samsung, on the other hand, Amazon experienced a slight decline. This is probably related to the postponement of the Prime Day discount event, which the company traditionally holds in September, but this year it had to be moved to October.
