The PlayStation 5 gaming console has only recently been introduced, and potential buyers are only now starting to get answers to a number of their questions. For example, certain uncertainties related to the storage of this novelty - it will be at the time of the release of the latest addition to the PlayStation family without the possibility of exchange or expansion. However, users are advised not to purchase any additional storage just yet – it is possible that this limitation will change in one of the next software updates.

The PlayStation 5 game console will offer support for both internal and external storage. Sony's internal storage boasts a really high speed, so only the official M.2 SSD from Sony can be considered as a solution. Due to this limitation, Sony has decided to use software to lock down the internal storage from any upgrades, but this will most likely change in the future - it just needs Sony to provide third-party manufacturers with the necessary informace and compatibility guidelines. Right from the start, however, it will be possible to expand the storage of the PlayStation 5 with the help of USB external drives. However, even in this case, the internal disk space inside the PlayStation will serve as storage for the games themselves.

Sony also this week on your blog has confirmed that due to the current situation, sales of the latest generation of its gaming console will take place exclusively online. Therefore, on the days of the launch of sales (12 and 19 November), customers will not find new PlayStations in brick-and-mortar stores, but only in selected e-shops. "Stay safe, stay home, and place your order online," Sony invites its customers. Those who pre-ordered the console earlier and chose to pick it up in-store will be able to do so as normal. Users took the site by storm after the launch of pre-orders, and the respective stocks were sold out in practically no time. Sony has not specified how long the restriction on physical sales will last, but most likely it will not end before December.
