Samsung owners Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra as one of the few owners of phones with  Androidem can enjoy the support of ultra-wideband technologies. According to the XDA site however, Google plans to finally include their support in new versions of its operating system. So far, the American company is silent on how the device could use the technology, but if we look at its current use, we will find that it will probably be a search for the device in space. It uses the same ultra-wideband the SmartThings Find feature, which is available on the mentioned models from Samsung.

Ultra-wideband technology allows supported devices to determine their location in space. Thanks to the constant determination of their mutual distance, they can track their relative movement very accurately over a short distance. The technology is mainly used to find lost small items such as keys, watches or headphones. Compared to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, which were similarly used in the past, ultra-broadbands also offer the advantage of lower energy consumption.

However, how long we will see support for the technology is still a mystery. XDA points out that Google probably won't have time to incorporate it into the upcoming Android 12, and that we are not yet clear whether the company will incorporate it into the next version of its flagship in the form of the sixth Pixel. iPhones have been supporting the function since last year, its connection to androidof its ecosystem would thus mean an equalization of forces with the biggest mobile rival.
