Spotify has clearly ruled the music streaming world for a long time, at least in terms of subscribers. Spotify can be proud of 130 million paying users, but if we take into account all users, it suddenly seems that YouTube Music cannot catch up. Of course, it is helped by its inseparableness from the most used video platform, but it still operates with a billion listeners, who could become paying users. YouTube Music is not idle and tries to add new functions to its applications, where it usually "describes" from more profitable competitors. Recently, the service from Google added personalized playlists, now adding new options to recall the music you listened to in different eras and integration with popular social networks.

The first novelty is the new personalized playlist "Year in Review". It offers a summary of your most listened songs for a certain year. The same feature is present in Apple Music, nor on Spotify, where we can find it under the name Your best songs with the corresponding year. Along with it, more general playlists of the most listened to songs of the year should arrive by the end of the year. The second news is aimed at Instagram and Snapchat users, who will be offered the opportunity to share music from the service directly to their "stories". With this, Google is entering territory that has been dominated by Spotify for a long time. But it is certainly a nice attempt to get new subscribers from among social network users and "crack" the dominance of its arch-rival.

YouTube is already testing both new features, so they should arrive soon. How do you like the news? Do you use YouTube Music or one of their competitors? Share your opinion with us in the discussion below the article.
