Samsung has confirmed that the Samsung Internet 13.0 browser is leaving the beta stage and will be publicly available in stores Galaxy Store and Google Play by the end of the week. The latest major browser update focuses on improving privacy and security, user interface and experience, and also brings new API modules and engine updates.

Samsung Internet 13.0 has been optimized for the One UI 3.0 user interface (which is still in beta), but of course it will also work with older versions of the superstructure. The new browser update brings an expandable app bar to bookmarks, saved pages, history, settings, ad blockers, and add-ons. In addition, users will be able to hide the status bar while surfing the Internet and will also have the option to add a custom name to bookmarks as soon as they "bookmark" a page.

Other new features include a High Contrast mode that will be able to be used in combination with a dark mode, and a feature that allows users to double-tap the center of the screen to control video playback when the Video Assistant "plays" in full window.

The latest version of the browser also brings changes "under the hood" such as new API modules (namely WebRequest, Proxy, Cookies, Types, History, Alarms, Privacy, Notifications, Permissions, Idle and Management) and includes the latest stable version of the web engine Chromium.
