Who does not know the legendary company Nokia, i.e. Ericsson, which supplied the world with indestructible phones for years and subsequently reoriented itself to the smartphone segment. Those days are long gone, but that doesn't mean the manufacturer is out of the game. On the contrary, most European countries with the arrival of the new generation 5G networks are reaching for solutions from Ericsson and are trying to use not only the company's backbone network, but also its experience in the field of telecommunications. However, although the Swedish giant could celebrate and happily usurp the monopoly on offer, this is not the case. To everyone's surprise, CEO Borje Ekholm openly expressed his support for the Chinese company Huawei, which was banned in many European countries and removed from the competition.

According to Borjeke, the government decisions of the member countries of the European Union disrupt free trade, market freedom and, above all, destroy competition. At the same time, he pointed out that precisely similar machinations with permitting or prohibiting the construction of infrastructures are delaying the massive boom of 5G and endangering existing technologies as well. After all, Swedish companies, led by the government, literally cut Huawei out of the game and even confirmed that all manufacturers must rid the existing infrastructure of technologies from the Chinese giant by 2025 and replace them with a Western alternative. Eckholm was disappointed by a similar approach, and thus does not see the whole process as a victory, but as a default win.
