You certainly did not miss the fact that a new generation of consoles saw the light of day, led by the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. Although it might seem that the technological giants will be equipped for all eventualities and will not be surprised by something, the opposite is true. Even before the release, there were rumors that there would not be enough units and both companies would have a big problem to cover the demand. And as the bad language people claimed, so it happened. Both Sony and Microsoft have officially confirmed that all pieces are hopelessly out of stock and it will take at least a few more months before they are properly restocked. And as it turns out, in the case of the Xbox, RDNA 2 technology seems to be responsible for this ailment.

Microsoft has pledged to provide users with full RDNA 2 support, which includes the famous Ray Tracing, adaptive shadow rendering and, above all, hardware acceleration. Phil Spencer wanted to implement all of the mentioned functions at all costs, and as it turned out, this could be the stumbling block. While Sony was satisfied with the fact that it would not have variable shadow rendering, Microsoft preferred to reach for the technology from AMD, which caused complications in production and the new Xbox did not hit the production lines until the summer. Although the Japanese Sony suffered from other ailments, especially due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was Microsoft who was not satisfied with the list of functions and was forced to make compromises. We'll see if we can get the console back in stock before Christmas.
