Since release iPhone 12 it's barely been a few weeks and they've already started seeping into the ether informace about the next generation of Apple smartphones, i.e. about iPhone 13. According to the latest report, the Cupertino tech giant plans to work with South Korean companies on a periscope lens in an effort to boost optical zoom performance in the coming iPhonech.

A report by Taiwanese website DigiTimes, cited by Gizmochina, claims that Apple's major smartphone rival Samsung is among Apple's potential partners. He used that periscope lens – allowing 10x optical and 100x digital zoom – in the phone Galaxy S20Ultra.

Currently except Galaxy The S20 Ultra offers a periscope lens for better photography features only a handful of other high-end smartphones, including Huawei P40 Pro, Huawei Mate 40 Pro, Vivo X50 Pro+ or Oppo Find X2.

At the moment, he says, there is no indication that the two technological giants have come to an agreement on this matter. According to the Gizmochina website, if the "deal" were to be concluded, it is not clear whether the next series of iPhones would receive the periscope lens.

In this context, it is interesting to recall that last year Samsung bought the Israeli company Corephotonics, which was involved in the development of zoom technologies for smartphones and which previously Samsung and Apple sued for alleged infringement of patents related to telephoto zoom technology.
