Although Samsung after this year's Unpacked conference, it received quite a lot of praise from reviewers and technology enthusiasts, especially because of the effort to unify the support of older models and offer them an adequate portion of updates, in the case of wearable devices we unfortunately have to disappoint all interested parties. Upcoming flagship model Galaxy The S21, one of the upcoming high-end models, will have one such unpleasant ailment. By default, it won't support older wearables including wristbands or Gear smartwatches. However, this is not exclusively the fault of this South Korean manufacturer. Samsung said that the constantly expanding platform Galaxy Wearable will have to be limited to newer models for compatibility reasons.

In any case, this fact only applies to devices that have not received any significant update in the last few years anyway, or are not sold at all, either in brick-and-mortar stores or on Samsung's official website. Specifically, these are, for example, models Galaxy Gear, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, Gear S and Gear Fit, i.e. devices that have been around for several years and in the future their direct support was simply not expected. In addition, it is not an exception, similar to Galaxy The S21 won't support older wearables or other smartphones coming next year. We'll see how Samsung handles this predicament.
