As you may have noticed, in the last few months there has been a rather sharp battle between Western and Eastern corporations and technology companies, which are trying at any cost to smear the competition and above all to establish dominance and hegemony. Although the result is still unclear and the fight will continue for a long time, with the fact that it will most likely intensify over time, the findings of the Chinese court added fuel to the fire. The latter accused the manufacturer Gionee of deliberately installing dangerous malware into its smartphones, thereby endangering users and, above all, profiting from advertisements associated with the Trojan horse. There was also tracking of users and interference in their privacy.

This is a relatively hard blow for Chinese smartphone manufacturers, who have long been accused of running afoul of the local government and trying to undermine the authority of Western powers through unfair practices. One way or another, Gionee managed to influence up to 20 million smartphones and earn several million dollars in data trading. But this misstep will probably cost the manufacturer a lot, because the court awarded the company an astronomical fine and, above all, another, internal investigation will take place. So we can only wait to see how the West will react to the situation, and whether this fact will in any way affect the perception of the Chinese technological giants in the eyes of the public and politicians.
