Although we report on large smartphone manufacturers quite regularly, it rarely happens that we get away with news involving the very management behind the development and management of the company. This time, however, there was an exception, as the co-founder of the giant Chinese OnePlus is leaving the company and intends to embark on his own ambitious project that knows no boundaries. So, to be precise, Carl Pei left OnePlus two months ago, but until now it seemed that he would simply find employment in another company and move on professionally. But as it happens, not everyone wants to rely on the benevolence of another employer and wants to take a little risk.

The co-founder of such a large company as OnePlus understandably has enough knowledge and resources to start a project of his own. And he probably realized the same thing Carl Pei, because he began to approach investors, saying that he needed $ 7 million from the pockets of the most influential figures. Of course, they believed in the leader and provided him with the money to start the project, concretely involved, for example, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin or Steve Huffman, the executive director of Reddit. It certainly doesn't look like only Chinese investors are going to jump on the slow moving train. On the contrary, Western tycoons believe in Pei and all we have to do is wait and see how the upcoming hardware project will develop.
