The team at Samsung in charge of Exynos processors is preparing to officially introduce their new generation. This should happen on December 15 this year. To mark the occasion, the team posted a thank you note on their Twitter account today along with a short, emotional video showing their gratitude to their supporters. But apparently the video is also meant to serve as an apology.

In the animated video, which is simply titled "Thank You," we can see a man settling into a chair after arriving home, apparently impatiently waiting for something. He picks up his smartphone, but an animated character accompanies him to the closet, where the man finds a guitar. The Exynos team accompanied their tweet with a simple "Dear Fans", the post ignited a heated discussion about what to expect in the second half of this month. The Exynos team has not had it easy in recent years. Its products haven't exactly been met with enthusiasm, and have been criticized for falling behind the likes of Snapdragon processors, among other things.

This year could practically be considered the worst for the Exynos team, at least in terms of public perception – the Exynos 990 received considerable criticism from users and shareholders. Last month, Samsung introduced the Exynos 1080 as a solution for its flagships, but the chipset does not represent the best that the company can offer. So everyone is eagerly waiting for the Exynos 2100, hoping that it will improve the team. The specifications are not officially known yet, but it is said that the Exynos 2100 should be manufactured using the 5nm EUV process and should consist of four Cortex-A55 cores, three Cortex-A78 cores, a brand new Cortex-X1 core and a graphics chip Mali-G78.
