The YouTube platform is quite famous for taking a rather cautious, restrained approach to all innovations, being careful not to upset existing users too much with sudden changes. Each function thus goes through intensive testing for many months and it is not always possible to implement it as the developers originally expected. Fortunately, the exact opposite is the case with HDR, i.e. High-Dynamic Range, a function that offers sharper colors, a significantly smoother image and more elegant rendering. Although YouTube, and therefore Google, implemented this function already in 2016, only now have the creators also focused on live broadcasts. Until now, only pre-prepared and pre-recorded videos offered a better display.

However, thanks to the involvement of developers, HDR will no longer rest solely in the hands of content creators, but will be generated in direct transmission, literally. More and more users rely on live transmission and subsequent recording. Gone are the days when YouTube served primarily as a platform allowing only the uploading of ready-made content. Thanks to the transformation of the overall business model and the orientation of the service, YouTube offers significantly more options for sharing its content with the world. For this reason as well, the arrival of HDR for all major operating systems is great news, and we can only hope that Google will continue to stick to this level of commitment.
