While the original Samsung Galaxy The Z Fold was a fragile prototype of a folding device, the second generation of the Fold coped better with the problem of a sensitive display. Galaxy The Z Fold 2 cannot protect its foldable display with proper glass like other phones, so it relies on two layers of protective plastic. The first, the main one, is located just above the screen and surrounded by the device's frames. The second layer is a simple protective film that owners can theoretically remove themselves. However, after some time of use, they start to complain about its quality, because air bubbles form under it.

Air bubbles appear in the hinge of the screen, which is subjected to the most pressure. The film seems to gradually peel off with repeated use. Of course, this is only an ordinary plastic protection, which should preferably only be temporary. However, there aren't many alternatives when it comes to folding phones. There are no flexible glass covers to prevent damage to the sensitive flexible plastic above the screen.

The only option for users affected by the problem is to try to safely remove the foil and replace it with a new piece. While this is an annoying problem, it's encouraging at least that the phone is still free of more hardware issues. When the phone was released, there were mainly concerns about the wear of the hinge itself and the loss of its strength. Do you have any of the Folds at home? Have a problem with your phone?
