Since last week, Samsung has been releasing the December security patch for its devices (phones of the current flagship series Galaxy S20 however, they received it as part of the new One UI 3.0 beta version back in November), but only now has he revealed what bugs he actually fixes. Somewhat surprisingly, there are several very old vulnerabilities among them, which seem to have existed since ancient times Androidu 8 Oreo (to refresh your memory - this OS was released in the summer of 2017).

Fortunately, none of the newly patched exploits met the definition of a critical security flaw (in contrast to November's, when only five of the dozens of vulnerabilities were critical). Most of the vulnerabilities that Samsung describes in its security bulletin were at most moderately dangerous and posed a risk to a limited (yet sensitive) range of user data, such as phone GPS data or informace about contacts.

The release of the latest security patch is still at the beginning and it will probably take a few more weeks to reach all recipients. In addition to the series Galaxy S20 series have already received it Galaxy Notes 20, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S9 or telephone Galaxy Notes 9.

As always, you can check for patch availability manually by opening it Settings, by selecting the option Software update and double-tapping the option Download and install.
