Google has added 50 new animals to the mobile version of its search engine that can be viewed in augmented reality. At random, it is a giraffe, zebra, cat, pig or hippopotamus or dog breeds such as chow-chow, dachshund, beagle, bulldog or corgi (dwarf dog originating from Wales).

Google started adding 3D animals to its search engine in the middle of last year, and since then a number of "additions" have been added to it. Currently, it is possible to view in this mode, for example, a tiger, horse, lion, wolf, bear, panda, koala, cheetah, leopard, turtle, dog, penguin, goat, deer, kangaroo, duck, alligator, hedgehog, snake, eagle, shark or octopus.

The American tech giant has even teamed up with several museums to create 3D versions of prehistoric animals. This shows that they also see educational potential in this function.

In addition, it is possible to view various objects in 3D, including parts of the human body, cellular structures, planets and their moons, several Volvo cars, but also unique items such as the command module of Apollo 11 or Chauvet's cave.

To view 3D animals you need to have androidov phone with version Android 7 and above. If you want to interact with them in AR, it is necessary that your smartphone supports Google's augmented reality platform ARCore. Then all you have to do is search for a "supported" animal (eg tiger) in the Google app or Chrome browser and tap the AR card in the search results that says "Meet a life-sized tiger up close" life size").
