As you surely know from our previous news, the Chinese smartphone giant Huawei made a decision under the pressure of American sanctions sell its Honor division. Now, news has hit the airwaves that the now-independent company has set a target of selling 100 million smartphones next year. However, it is not clear if this refers to sales in China or worldwide.

Honor CEO Zhao Ming was said to have recently stated at a staff meeting in Beijing that the company's goal is to become China's number one smartphone. If we look at the data on the market there, we will see that last year Huawei (including Honor) shipped 140,6 million smartphones on it. The second place belonged to the Vivo brand, which shipped 66,5 million smartphones, the third was Oppo with 62,8 million delivered phones, the fourth with 40 million Xiaomi smartphones, and the top five was still Apple, which got 32,8 million smartphones into stores. Apparently, the 100 million target refers to the domestic market.

On the day that Honor separated from Huawei, the founder of the Chinese technology giant, Zhen Zhengfei, made it known that the current smartphone duo no longer holds any stake in the new company and that he will not participate in any way in the decision-making of its management.

When it comes to the global arena, neither Huawei nor Honor will have it easy next year, according to analysts' predictions. The most pessimistic forecasts expect that the market share of the first mentioned will shrink from 14% to 4%, while the share of the second will be 2%.
